This product can be used to manufacture methionine (feed additive); Allyl alcohol produced by reduction is used as raw material for glycerol production. After oxidation to form acrylic acid, can be further prepared acrylic acid ester, used in acrylic paint; Acrolein is the raw material for making glutaraldehyde, 1,2, 6-hextriol and crosslinking agent. Also used in the manufacture of colloidal osmium, ruthenium, rhodium; 2, 3-dibromopropanal can be obtained by the action of acrolein with bromine, which can be used to produce methotrexate, an antitumor drug. Acrolein is a very important intermediate in the production of bio-pesticide imidacloprid.
