Graphite powder is a type of mineral powder primarily composed of simple carbon. It is soft, with a black - gray color, and has a
greasy texture that can stain paper.
The hardness of graphite powder ranges from 1 to 2, and it can increase to 3 - 5 in the vertical direction as impurities increase.
Its specific gravity is 1.9~2.3. Under oxygen - free conditions, its melting point exceeds 3000 ºC, making it one of the most heat -
resistant minerals. At room temperature, graphite powder has relatively stable chemical properties. It is insoluble in water, dilute
acids, dilute alkalis, and organic solvents. Due to its high - temperature resistance and electrical conductivity, graphite powder can
be used as a refractory material, a conductive material, and a wear - resistant lubricating material.
