DOS is the typical high quality cold resistance PVC plasticizer, with high plasticizing efficiency and low volatility. Besides its high performance in cold weather, it works well under high temperature. For its excellent insulativity and strong weather resistance property, it is often used for the production of cold resistance wire, cable material, artificial leather, pellicle, plank stuff, sheet material and so on. It is non-toxic. The toxicity factor is 500(The toxicity grade is T=1000), and any dosage fed to the white rat has not resulted in poisoning. It is quite suitable for foodstuff wrapper. It can also be used as low temperature plasticizer of many synthetic rubbers or cold resisting plasticizer of nitryl cellulose, ethyl cellulose, polymethyl methacrylate, polystyrene, v inyl chloride copolymer and so on. Sometimes, it is used as lubricating oil of jet engine.

Applications
DOS plasticizer is a superior cold-resisting plasticizer,it has good plasticizing effect and
better heat endurance,light-resisting and electrical properties. It is chiefly used in processing polyvinl chloride and its copolymer,cellulosic resins and synthetic rubbers,etc..It is usually mixed with phthalic esters in use to minimize its migration rate.
DOS has been applied to vinyl-chloride co-polymers, cellulose, CDDP-ms and synthetic rubber, especially suitable to product hardy wire and cable material, artificial leather, thin film, panel and sheet, etc. It has been used to mix with phthalates plasticizer, and to be low-temperature plasticizer for synthesized rubber. In addition, it has been used as the lubricant of the jet engine. It has been used to the system of solid propellant to improve the mechanical properties, to decrease Tg and increase the percentage elongation of solid propellant at low temperature. Also, it can decrease the viscosity of propellant paste to increase the fluidity and flow leveling with good processing property. The dosage is 10%~40% weight to the binder.
