Features
Nickel oxide is a green powder, yellow powder when overheated, specific gravity 6.6-6.8, melting point 1990ºC. It is oxidized to nickel sesquioxide by heat to 400ºC in the air, and at 600ºC, it is reduced to nickel monoxide and calcined at low temperature to obtain nickel monoxide, which has chemical activity. If the nickel oxide obtained by calcination at 1000ºC is greenish-yellow, the activity is small. The solubility and catalytic activity decreased with the increase of the preparation temperature and the increase of the density and resistance of nickel oxide. Stability: Nickel oxide is a stable compound at room temperature and does not react easily with most chemicals.
Electrical properties: Nickel oxide has certain electrical properties and can be used in the preparation of electronic materials and devices.
Magnetic: Under certain conditions, nickel oxide may also exhibit certain magnetic properties.
